What is a tanda?

A tanda is a group savings circle: everyone chips in the same amount on a regular schedule, and each round one member takes home the whole pot. It's a tradition across Latin America — and in Latino communities all over the US — that helps families save for big goals without banks or interest. Economists call it a ROSCA (rotating savings and credit association); you may also know it as a savings circle or lending circle.

A group you trust

Family, friends or coworkers get together to save as a group.

Regular contributions

Everyone puts in the same amount every round.

One payout per round

On each payout date, one member receives the full pot.

Call it whatever your family calls it

The same idea goes by many names: tanda or cundina for Mexicans, san for Dominicans and Venezuelans, cuchubal in Central America, susu in the Caribbean, or simply a savings circle. TandaPlus works exactly the same for all of them, in US dollars and with US phone numbers.

The savings circle app with everything your tanda needs

Built so that organizing a tanda is easy, transparent and mistake-free.

Full control of the numbers

Assign, swap, remove and split turns between members. Draw them at random or assign them by hand.

Partial payments with carry-over

Log full or partial payments. Anything extra rolls forward to the next rounds automatically. Log payments for several members at once.

Real-time dashboard

See active tandas, collected, pending and late members at a glance — plus progress per round, who gets paid next and who owes what.

Automatic late fees

Set a flat fee or a percentage, charged once or per day. They kick in on their own after the grace period you choose.

WhatsApp reminders

Automatic reminders before, on and after the due date. You pick the days, the time and how often.

Contact list

Keep your members' name, WhatsApp, email and address in one place. Search by name or phone and reuse them in any tanda.

Receipts and documents

Upload payment receipts, profile photos and any documents you need. Files are stored securely in the cloud with controlled access.

Shared numbers

Let two or more people split one turn, each paying their percentage of the contribution.

Payout confirmation

Mark the payout as delivered in one click. The member gets a WhatsApp notice and you keep a record of who received it and when.

Public page to share

Share a link so members can see turns, dates, rules and late fees — no account needed.

Emergency fund

A reserve with tracked deposits and withdrawals, a balance and a goal, so one late payment doesn't hold up the whole group.

Three kinds of tanda

Savings, loan or service tandas, each with its own flow: fixed amounts, variable amounts, or services with a name and value.

Number zero — organizer's fee

Add a number 0 that receives a payout without contributing, if your group agrees the organizer gets a fee for running the tanda.

Here's how it works

Three simple steps and your tanda is up and running.

1

Create your tanda

Pick the type (savings, loan or service) and set members, schedule and amounts. TandaPlus works out every due date for you.

2

Add your members

Add people from your contact list, assign turns by hand or at random, split turns, and set up late fees and reminders.

3

Track and collect

Log payments one by one or in bulk, with automatic carry-over. Check the dashboard and each member's payment history, spot who's late, and confirm payouts with a WhatsApp notice.

Why TandaPlus instead of a notebook?

Paper tandas work... until someone gets mixed up, the notebook goes missing or somebody just stops paying. TandaPlus takes care of that.

Everyone sees the same thing

Share your tanda's public page. Every member can check turns, dates, rules and late fees without creating an account.

Automation that does the chasing

Late fees, WhatsApp reminders, payment math and carry-over run on their own. You set the rules; TandaPlus does the heavy lifting.

A real-time dashboard

Active tandas, collected, pending, late members, next payout and who owes what — all on one screen with color-coded status.

Everything on record

A full payment history for every member, receipts stored in the cloud, documents and profile photos. Every move is logged.

One account, every screen

Use it today from the browser on your phone, tablet or computer. Android and iOS apps are coming soon — same account, same data, nothing to move over.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about TandaPlus.

What is TandaPlus?
TandaPlus is a web app for the person who organizes a tanda (also called a cundina, san, savings circle or ROSCA). It keeps track of members, turns, payments, late fees and WhatsApp reminders, so you don't have to do it in a notebook or a spreadsheet.
Does TandaPlus hold or move our money?
No. TandaPlus never receives, holds or transfers money. Members keep paying each other the way your group already does — cash, Zelle, bank transfer, whatever you agree on. TandaPlus only keeps the records and sends the reminders. It is not a bank or a financial institution.
Is TandaPlus free?
Yes. The Free plan includes 1 active tanda with up to 10 members. The Pro plan — unlimited tandas and members, automatic late fees, WhatsApp reminders, emergency fund, shared numbers and document uploads — costs $149 MXN/year (Mexican pesos), paid by card.
Can I run my tanda in US dollars?
Yes. Choose the United States as your country when you sign up and amounts show in US dollars. You can enter US phone numbers, and reminders go out over WhatsApp.
Is a tanda the same as a ROSCA, savings circle or lending circle?
They're the same basic idea: a group contributes a fixed amount each period and takes turns receiving the pot. TandaPlus helps you keep track of your own group's circle. It doesn't lend money, doesn't pay interest and doesn't report to credit bureaus.
How do I log my members' payments?
From your dashboard, log payments one at a time or for several members at once. Enter the amount and TandaPlus applies it to the current round. If someone pays extra, the difference rolls forward to the next rounds automatically.
What happens if someone pays late?
TandaPlus automatically flags the member as late with a red status on your dashboard. On the Pro plan, late fees are added automatically (flat or percentage, once or per day) and WhatsApp reminders go out before, on and after the due date.
Do my members need a TandaPlus account?
No. You run everything from your dashboard. On the Pro plan you can share a public page where members see turns, dates, rules and late fees without signing up.
Can two people share one number?
Yes. On the Pro plan you can split a turn between two or more members by percentage. Each pays their share, and TandaPlus keeps a separate payment history for each one.
What kinds of tanda can I create?
Three: Savings (the classic tanda with a fixed amount), Loan (variable amounts per number) and Service (each number is tied to a service with a name and value). Each type has its own flow.
What are the emergency fund and number zero?
The emergency fund is an optional reserve: you set a goal and a contribution per round, and TandaPlus tracks deposits, withdrawals and the balance, so a late payment doesn't delay someone else's payout. Number zero is an extra turn that receives a payout without contributing, for groups that agree to give the organizer a fee. Both are Pro features.
Is it secure?
TandaPlus uses encrypted data, secure sign-in with one-time codes over WhatsApp and protected servers. Documents and receipts are stored in the cloud with per-user access control. TandaPlus never asks for official ID to use the service.
Can I use TandaPlus on my phone? Is there an app?
Yes — TandaPlus works in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to download. Android and iOS apps are coming soon to Google Play and the App Store, on the same account: sign up today and your tandas will be there when the app launches.
